Administrative & Communications Assistant (Part-Time)
Job Overview
We are looking for an organized, capable, and service-minded individual to join our team and support the ongoing work and growth of the Institute for Marketplace Transformation (IMT). The Administrative & Communications Assistant will provide day-to-day administrative support while also helping IMT communicate effectively with its members, partners, and broader audience.
This is a varied role in a small and growing organization, requiring someone who is comfortable wearing many hats. Responsibilities will include administrative support, correspondence, event planning, email newsletters, social media, website updates, and other marketing and communications tasks. The position reports to the Operations Leader and will work closely with IMT's leadership and other team members.
To be successful in this role, you should be organized, dependable, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities. You should communicate well, have an eye for detail, be comfortable learning new tools and systems, and have a genuine desire to serve others and contribute to IMT's mission.
Job Responsibilities
Administrative Support
Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Leadership team
Respond to and manage general email inquiries and correspondence
Schedule meetings and assist with calendars and follow-up
Assist with other administrative tasks and special projects as needed
Communications & Marketing
Create and schedule content for IMT's social media channels
Update and maintain content on the IMT website
Create and send email newsletters and other communications
Assist with developing marketing materials, graphics, and promotional content
Events & Programs
Assist with planning and coordinating IMT events, groups, retreats, meetings, and other gatherings
Manage event registrations and communications with participants
Coordinate logistics, materials, catering, venues, and other event details
Assist with event promotion and follow-up communications
Provide on-site support at occasional IMT events
General Support
Take initiative to identify and address administrative and communications needs
Support volunteers, contractors, staff, and IMT Regions
Assist with special projects for the Executive Director and leadership team
Learn and help manage IMT's various digital platforms and systems
Take on other responsibilities as needed to support IMT's mission and growth
Need to Have
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong attention to detail
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Microsoft 365
Comfortable learning and working with online tools and platforms
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently
Good customer service and interpersonal skills
Proactive, dependable, and able to take initiative
Good team player

Substantial alignment with IMT's Purpose, Beliefs and Values Statement
Nice to Have
2+ years of experience in administration, communications, marketing, event planning, or a related field
Experience managing social media for an organization
Experience with website content management, particularly Squarespace
Experience with Canva or other graphic design tools
Experience creating email newsletters using Mailchimp or similar platforms
Experience with event planning
Experience working in a Christian organization, ministry, or nonprofit
Based in the Greater Vancouver, Calgary, or Southern California
Working Schedule and Pay
Work from home, with some occasional travel to events and in-person meetings required
Flexible hours
10 hours per week
$25/hour
